The Botataung Pagoda (sometimes spelled Botahtaung) is located in downtown Yangon, close to the river. It was created at the same period as the Shwedagon Pagoda, 2500 years ago according to the legend.

Inside the main Stupa, there is a shrine containing a Sacred Hair Relic of the Buddha.
